Software-driven transformations – vision and reality
Large SAP customers are running a variety of process and system landscapes with numerous ERP systems. Critical for success in today’s world, transformation and innovation projects are focused on digitisation, new business models and platforms, future IT landscape and SAP applications.
Transformations don’t usually fail due to someone’s lack of vision. The reality is that these types of transformations are complex and can often be unpredictable, risky, and seemingly endless. Setting concrete, achievable goals is indeed complicated. When projects such as this fail, it is most often due to a lack of technical feasibility, functional detail, and the overall lengthy path required to achieve global implementation. From a business perspective, projects may also struggle when the project’s effort, cost, and duration seem to outweigh the overall benefits.
